What is this?
The Saudi Energy Efficiency Label communicates a product's energy-efficiency rating to the Saudi consumer. It is mandatory on products such as air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, and other applicable energy-consuming appliances before they can be sold in KSA.
The label is awarded after the product is tested against the relevant SASO energy-efficiency standard and its rating is validated.

How it works

Eligibility check
Confirm your product falls under the labelling scope and identify the applicable SASO energy-efficiency standard.

Lab testing
Samples are tested at an accredited lab to measure energy consumption and determine the efficiency rating.

Label application
Test results are submitted to SASO and a label showing the energy-efficiency rating is issued.

Affixing & monitoring
Label is affixed on the product and packaging per SASO design rules; market surveillance may verify the rating post-launch.
